Margaret A. Wheeler, 94, Loved reading, traveling, and volunteering

Photo of Margaret A.  Wheeler Margaret A. Wheeler, 94, of Oberlin, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Kendal of Oberlin following a brief illness.

Mrs. Wheeler was born in Detroit, MI on January 16, 1920, the daughter of the late Rudolph and Gladys (nee McCloud) Hofelich. She graduated from Cooley High School in Detroit and attended Dennison College in Ohio.

She worked as a librarian at Berea School System for 20 years.

Mrs. Wheeler was a long time member of several United Church of Christ congregations. During that time she served in various capacities, including being a Deaconess, volunteer church librarian wedding hostess, and a choir member.

She volunteered with Meals on Wheels nand Living Room Learning with Case Western university. She also taught English as a second language through the library.

Mrs. Wheeler enjoyed reading, traveling and was always eager to learn new things.

She is survived by her sons Charles W. (Evelyn) Wheeler of Potomac, MD, Rev. Dr. David E. (Karen) Wheeler of Rochester Hills, MI, Rev. Dr. James R. (Carol) Wheeler, of Stamford, CN, grandchildren: Ethan Wheeler, Mary Crnobori, Lucy Leety-Wheeler, Susan Wheeler, Kate Wheeler, Leah Wheeler, Shoshana Wheeler and 5 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles W. Wheeler in 2006.

Burial will be private and a Memorial service will be announced in August.
