Paula M. Alvarado, 60, Nurse and Mother
Paula M. Mrosek Alvarado, 60, of Ashtabula, formerly of Lorain passed away on Friday, May 15, 2015 at University Hospital in Cleveland following a long illness.Mrs. Alvarado was born in Lorain on March 24, 1955, the daughter of the late Albert Mrosek and Jeanne J. (nee Pierson) Mrosek Somers. She was a 1973 graduate of Marion L. Steele High School in Amherst and the Lorain County Comunity College as a registered nurse. She was continuing her studies at LCCC toward her Bachelor's Degree in nursing.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Lorain. She enjoyed Sea Glass Jewelry, horticulture, boating, reading, spending time with her beloved family and traveling.
Mrs. Alvarado worked as a RN at Carl Stokes Veterans Hospital for 23 plus years; retiring in 2014.
She is survived by her husband Ciprian Alvarado of Ashtabula, her son Matthew R Alvarado also of Ashtabula her mother Jeanine Mrosek Somers of Benita Springs, FL.
In addition to her father, Mrs. Alvarado was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: George S. and Ann Pierson and her paternal grandparents; Emil and Marie Mrosek.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 647 Reid Ave, Lorain with Mr. Bruce Meadows, officiating.
Burial will be private.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Cleveland, Iris S. and Bert L. Wolstein Center, 10011 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland OH 44106.
