Donald L. Lundberg, 83, Air Force and Navy Veteran

Photo of Donald L. Lundberg Donald L. Lundberg, 83 of Lorain passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 in Mercy Regional Medical Center following a lengthy Illness.

He was born May 27, 1931 in Salem. Donald moved with his family to Avon Lake when he was 8 years old. He was a Lorain resident for the past 58 years. Don served 2 years 8 months in the Navy and 4 years in the Air Force.

Donald retired from Lorain Music Co in 1995. He worked there for 30 years. He came out of retirement to work for Western Enterprises in Avon Lake he worked there until 2013. Prior to working at Lorain Music he owned and operated Don’s Humble Services gas station in South Lorain. He also worked for Glidden Paint and Kroger’s.

Don enjoyed his home and maintaining his yard or sitting outside. He was a very hard working man who often worked two jobs at a time. Don enjoyed his friends and joining them on the Saturday Morning Breakfast Crew. He also enjoyed talking on his C. B. radio his handle was Vendo Kid.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 58 years Mildred “Millie” A. (née Baran); sons Donald M. Lundberg of Lorain and David H. (Deanna) Lundberg of Sumter, South Carolina; daughters Marcy (Marvin) Calvert of Vermilion, Dee Dee Martinez and Laurie Bennington both of Lorain; sisters in laws Arlene Lundberg and Betty Lundberg both of Avon Lake; 9 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henry G. and Irene M. (née Goodyear) Lundberg; his brothers Roy Lundberg and Robert Lundberg; sisters Doris Swanson and Carol McClung.

His family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 until time of his funeral service at 7 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain.
