Krstin Jovanovski, 92, Loved Being Surrounded By Family & Friends

He was born on August 5, 1922 in Selo Nakolec, Macedonia. While in Macedonia, Krstin completed high school and also received an Associate’s Degree in Finance. Krstin also served in the Macedonian Army for two years during World War II.
In 1967, Krstin immigrated to the United States. After settling in Lorain, Krstin worked for the Elyria Water Works, was a member of the AFSCME Local 227, Elyria and Public Employee Retirees, Inc., and retired in 1991. He also was the proprietor of The Knight Owl Lounge, in South Amherst. Krstin was a longstanding, devoted, and founding member of St. Clement of Ohrid Macedonian Orthodox Church in Avon.
Krstin loved his family and loved being surrounded by his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Krstin was a self-taught violinist, loved music, and was an avid sports fan, particularly soccer and basketball, including being a Cavaliers fan. Krstin also loved tending to his garden, grapevines, and fruit trees.
Krstin is survived by his loving and devoted wife of nearly 72 years, Trajanka (nee Kozovska), of Lorain, loving son Risto (Lile) Jovanovski of Lorain, and loving daughters, Milica Fajstner of Sarasota, Florida, and Elka (Michael) Ioannidis of Sheffield Lake. Krstin is also survived by six grandchildren: John (Nicole) Jovanovski of Lorain, Silvia Fajstner of Sarasota, Florida, Caroline Greenly of Sarasota, Florida, Amy (Bryan) Barnes of LaGrange, Mary (Michael) Miller of Lorain, and Lisa (David) Lindblom of Avon Lake. Krstin is also survived by seven great grandchildren: Joseph, Colton, Madison, Lilliana, Gavin, Michael, and Mackensie. Krstin was preceded in death by his mother Stoja (Vasil) Stojanovska (nee Kalagievska) and father Josif (Mary) Yovanoff.

His family will receive friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, where a Parastas will be Monday at 7:00 PM in the funeral home. Funeral service will be Tuesday 10:00 AM in the funeral home followed by 11:00 service in St. Clement of Ohrid Macedonian Orthodox Church, 38665 French Creek Road, Avon. Very Reverend Father Vasil Manasiev, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
