Helen L. Schuster, 81, Enjoyed Travel and Playing Cards

Born in Sandusky on August 12, 1933, Babe had been a resident of Lorain since 1936.
She was a 1951 graduate of Lorain High School and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lorain.
In her free time she enjoyed travel and playing cards; a devout fan of the Hallmark Channel, Babe also enjoyed reading with a special love for romance novels.
She is survived by her son Darrell Minnich (Beverly) of Elyria, and by her daughter Denise L. King of Lorain. Additional survivors include five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, her sister Mary Jane Robson of Amherst, brother John Merki (Jan) residing in Sylvania, and daughters-in-law Cynthia Minnich and Susan Minnich both of Lorain.
Mrs. Schuster was preceded in death by her husband Donald J. in 2000, and by her parents John and Helen A. (nee Kucia) Merki.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4 until 7 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel 3224 Broadway Avenue Lorain. Additional visitation will be observed Monday in Zion Lutheran Church, 5100 Ashland Avenue, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Dennis Schmidt will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
