Jennie Maffei, 91, Enjoyed Bingo and Casino Trips

She was born April 3, 1924 in Sicily, Italy and had resided in Lorain since 1956.

Jennie worked as a seamstress for Joseph & Feiss Clothiers and Daltons.
She enjoyed bingo, casino trips, poker, baking bread and cookies and flower gardening. Her family was the center of her life. She was a member of the Church of St. Peter in Lorain.

She is survived by her children George Maffei (fiancé Judy Silvestro) of Fairview Park, Melinda Carmela Caporossi of Florida, Maria Maffei, Josephine Mignosa (Gaetano), Rosemary White (Mark) and Janet Pihlblad (Dennis), all of Lorain, grandchildren Pasquale Caporossi, Rosanna Georges, Giovanna Mitru, Francesca Caporossi, Yvonne Maffei, John Athanas, Nicole Rivera, Francesca Mignosa, Giovanna Mignosa, Sarah, Mark Jr & Jordan White and Joshua, Joseph and Jacob Pihlblad, 10 great grandchildren, sisters Rosa Tringali, Rita Cutello, Pina Saraceno and Tina Raunisi, all of Sicily and brother Giovanni Raunisi of Sicily.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Maffei in 2003, parents Alfio & Carmelina Raunisi, grandson Joseph Caporossi and brother Antonio Raunisi.

The family will receive friends Monday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at the Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor, will officiate. Entombment in the Resurrection Aisle of the Mausoleum in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain will follow.
