Jeddie Poynter, Dancer and Choreographer

She is survived by her daughters Jessica (Driscol) Wright and her husband Dennis Wright, granddaughters Megan and Morgan Wright, her daughter Melissa Driscol and spouse Leo Terblanche. She is preceded in death by her mother, Zelma (nee Russ) McEvoy and her father Paul Bertram McEvoy.
Jeddie began performing as a dancer at the age of four. She continued as a performer for over fifty years as an actress, dancer singer and choreographer. She served as a choreographer for musical presentations for Clearview High School, Lorain High School and Elyria High School for over forty years. As an actress, she performed at the Workshop Players Playhouse and in theaters throughout Cuyahoga County.
After graduation from DePauw University in 1958, with a major in vocal performance, she moved to Lorain. Jeddie was active in the community, serving on the Lorain Fair Housing Board and as a member of the Palace Theater Board of Directors. She was employed by the Girl Scouts of America as a regional director and as a vocal music director at Clearview High School.
A reception will be held at the Palace Theatre lobby, 617 Broadway Ave., Lorain on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from noon until 4:00 p.m. with a memorial service and musical presentation at 2:00 p.m.
