Berry Krieg, 62, U.S. Marine Veteran

He was born in Aberdeen, Maryland, at the Army Medical Center Hospital where his father was stationed and attended military schooling., on April 13, 1952, the son of Don Krieg of Grosse Ile, MI and Clarice (nee Light) Kellogg of Amherst.
Berry was a 1970 Lorain High School graduate and later attended colleges in the Houston Texas area where he received two associate degrees. He was employed at the U.S. Steel Facility in Baytown, Texas. He worked as a brakeman with the railroad and was a part time commercial pilot.
He served in the United States Marine Corp as a Lance Corporal in the Vietnam War.
Berry was an avid hunter, fisherman and gun collector. He was active in the Democratic Party of Harris County, Texas. He was active in the boxing community and often worked out with professional boxers.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter Valerie Krieg of Lorain, a son Michael (Amanda) Krieg of Oberlin, a grand daughter McKenna Krieg, his step mother Shirley (nee Moore) Krieg of Grosse Ile, MI, a step son Timothy Dobesh of Houston, TX and brothers Terry L. Krieg of Scottsdale, Arizona, Perry L. Krieg of Ballwin, Missouri and several cousins in the Lorain area.
Berry was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents William H. and Mildred R. (nee Berry) Krieg and maternal grandparents Alice N. (nee Hall) Moore.
Friends may call on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until A Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 P.M., in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, in Lorain. The Rev. Gary Griffith, pastor of the First Community Church of God will officiate.
Burial will be private.
