Frank R. Mezlak, 57, Enjoyed woodworking, his dogs, playing cards, pinochle and bingo

Frank R. Mezlak, 57, of Lorain, died Saturday March 28, 2015 at Mercy New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain after a short illness.

Frank was born April 23, 1957 in Fremont and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident. Frank attended Clearview High School.

He worked as a baker for Consun Food Industries at various Convenient Food Mart stores in the area. He also worked at Lynx Bakery in Elyria and most recently was the bakery manager of the Apples Grocery Store in Sheffield Township.

He enjoyed woodworking, his dogs, playing cards, pinochle and bingo.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years Kimberly Mezlak (nee Gall), sister Janice (Ron) McGillivray of Lorain, brother Rick Mezlak of Lorain, sister Ruth Ann (Clif) Hyde of Painesville, several nieces and nephews , one great niece and one great nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank N & Eileen Mezlak (nee Coe), sister Judy Mezlak and brothers Gary and Larry Mezlak.

The family will receive friends Tuesday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:15 am in the funeral chapel followed by the funeral liturgy at 10:00 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 410 Lear Rd, Avon Lake. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
