Rufino Pagan, 87, Enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, playing cards and dominoes

Photo of Rufino Pagan Rufino Pagan Sr, 87, of Lorain, went home to be with the Lord on Friday March 27, 2015 at his home.

He was born in Ciales, Puerto Rico and came to Lorain in 1952. He worked as a Crane Operator for the Koehring Division of Thew Shovel Company in Lorain retiring after 25 years.

Rufino enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, playing cards and dominoes with family and friends as well as spending quality time with loved ones. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and had a great sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Carmen (nee Rodriguez), daughters Carmen D. Pagan and Ida (Tom) Concheck all of Lorain; sons Rufino (Sandy) Pagan Jr of Lorain and Ricardo (Peggy) Pagan of Carol Stream, Illinois; 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and five siblings in Puerto Rico. He was preceded in death by his parents Ignacio and Maria Pagan (nee Aponte) and 8 siblings.

The family will receive friends Monday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Additional viewing will be held Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of the mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave, Lorain. (Please meet at the church) The Rev. Bill Thaden, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
