Photo of Leonard R. Oray Leonard R. “Lenny” Oray, 67, of Sheffield Lake, died Thursday March 26, 2015 at his home while surrounded by his family after a two-year illness.

He was born July 17, 1947 in Lorain and had resided in Sheffield Lake for the past 46 years.

Lenny graduated from Admiral King High School in Lorain and served with the US Army.

He worked as an electrician with IBEW Local #129 for 35 years retiring in 2003.

Lenny was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, AMVETS Post #55 and VFW Post #8686, all of Sheffield Lake. He enjoyed spending time with his family, restoring his Corvette, gardening and cooking.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years Barbara Oray (nee Mervis), children Nadene (Bill) Martin of Shelby County, Kentucky, Andrea (Kevin) Ernst of Avon, Leonard (Jenny) Oray of Columbus, Cynthia Oray of Avon Lake, Joseph Oray of Sheffield Lake and Christine (Steven) Greer of Farmington Hills, Michigan, grandchildren Sherrie, Cassie, Mia, Gavin, Bennett, Jordan, Lenny, Brennan, Eden and Zoey and sister Rita Mrdenovich of Elyria. He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard & Ina Oray (nee Conde).

A memorial service will be held Friday at 10:00 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 521 Harris Rd, Sheffield Lake. The Rev. Stephen Shields, pastor, will officiate.
