Leonard Ruminski, 51, Gifted Fabricator and Welder

Photo of Leonard Ruminski Leonard Ruminski, age 51, of Grafton Township passed away unexpectedly at his residence on February 24th, 2015.

Born in Lorain on March 30, 1963, Len had been a resident of Lorain County for his entire life. He attended Lorain High School.

For the past fifteen years he had been employed as a millwright at Ford Motor Company’s Brookpark production facility. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 1250.

Len had a reputation for being able to fix or repair anything; he was also extremely gifted as a fabricator and welder. In his free time he enjoyed O-Gauge model railroading, slot car racing, and nitro trucks. He also had an interest in classic cars and was the owner of a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28.

He is survived by sisters Carol (Dan) Pruitt of Lakewood, Patricia (Greg) Markus of Lorain, Celeste (Danny) Daron of Nederland, Colorado, Marilyn (Keith) Muskiewicz of Elyria and Agnes (Scott) Lane residing in Gates Mills. He also leaves brothers James (Mary Lou) Ruminski of Elyria, Michael (Sandy) Ruminski of North Ridgeville, and Paul Ruminski of Parma. Additional survivors include his godchild Kelly Ruminski, his aunt Veronica Ruminski of Elyria, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and his pet Jack Russell Terrier George.

Len was preceded in death by his parents Leonard J. and Lois (nee Martin) Ruminski, by his sister Nancy Mickelson, and by his uncle Bernard Ruminski.

Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Monday beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. in Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Avenue. Reverend Robert Glepko, pastor of the parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
