Photo of Waneta  Hamrick Waneta “Mama Sue” Hamrick (née Pugh), 68, of Lorain, went home with the Lord January 25, 2015 in New Life Hospice Center, Lorain following a lengthy illness.

She was born July 3, 1946 in Webster Springs, West Virginia. She came to Lorain in 1980.

Mama Sue was a loving homemaker and mother. She enjoyed gambling, bingo, watching cooking shows and the Golden Girls.

She will be dearly missed by son Bart A. Hamrick of Lorain; daughters Cindy H. and Tammy L. Hamrick both of Lorain and Shelly D, Hamrick of Elyria; brother Alfred L. Pugh of Webster Springs; sisters Glenda K. Walker of Pasadena Maryland and Patricia J. Rutherford of Elkins West Virginia; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Franklin and Glada (née Cogar) Pugh; brother Delno Pugh; sisters Sibby Rutherford, Caroline Riffle and Arlene Brooks.

Her family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 8 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Her funeral service will be Friday in the funeral home at 10 AM. Pastor Cliff Morris if Lakeview Baptist Church, Vermilion will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
