Josephine Frances Klekota, 100, Avid Supporter of All Cleveland Professional Teams

Photo of Josephine Frances Klekota Josephine Frances Klekota (nee Schuster), passed away peacefully in her home on Friday January 16, 2015.

She was 100 years old having been born in Lorain on August 18, 1914 to Catharina and Johann Schuster.

She was married to Edward Klekota for 56 years before he passed away. She was also preceded in death by her oldest daughter Joyce Mason, brothers William and John Schuster and sisters Katherine McLaughlin and Pauline Kanary and son-in-law Thomas Burke. Her surviving daughters are Joanne Kneisel (Alan), Jacqueline Mantin (Edward), all of Lorain, Janet Gillespie of Elyria, Dona Burke of White Plains, New York and Marilyn Weems (Curtis) of Avon Lake. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Josephine was an avid supporter of all Cleveland professional teams, enjoyed league bowling with her daughters and embroidery and loved watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in sports. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends Sunday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Robert J. Glepko, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
