Ramon Cruz, 88, Enjoyed Music

Photo of Ramon Cruz Ramon Cruz, 88, of Lorain, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015 in Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain following a lengthy illness.

He was born October 16, 1926 in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico. He came to Lorain In 1948. He retired in 1983 from the Ford Engine Plant Number One in Brookpark. He worked there for 30 years. Before that he worked for Nickel Plate Railroad.

Ramon was member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain and the United Auto Workers Local 1250 in Brookpark. He enjoyed music, working in his yard and small engine repair.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 61 years Josefina (née Caban) Cruz of Lorain; sons George (Sandra) Cruz and Nelson (Nancy) Cruz both of Amherst; daughters Lydia Cruz, Sandra Cruz and Evelyn (Danny) Pell all of Lorain and Mary Cruz Lucio of Findley; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

Ramon was preceded in death by his parents Inocgencio and Rosa (née Santiago) Cruz; brother Renigio Cruz and a sister Felicita Cruz.

His family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 8 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. His funeral service will be in the funeral home Friday at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
