Marshall W. Dietrich, 79, Avid Boater

Photo of Marshall W. Dietrich Marshall W. Dietrich, age 79, passed away Saturday January 28th.

Born in Cleveland, he graduated from Fenn College with a degree in Mechanical Engineering; Mr. Dietrich had been employed for more than forty years by NASA at both the Lewis Research Center in Cleveland and the Plum Brook Station in Sandusky. He retired in 1980.

Marshall was an active parishioner of the Church of St. Peter in Lorain where he was a member of the choir and had also served as a Cantor, and Eucharistic Minister.

He was an avid boater and a member of the Vermilion Power Squadron. Additional interests included music and automobiles.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years Marilyn (nee Burton), daughter Kimberly (Jae) Park of Hingham, Massachusetts, sons John of Lorain and Mark (Jennifer) residing in St. Paul Minnesota, his grandson Matthew Park, his sister Stephenie Ellsworth of Wellfleet, Massachusetts, and several nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jerome and Helen (nee Liptak) Dietrich and by his brother Jerome.

Please join his family for the celebration of a memorial Mass at 11:30 a.m. on Friday February 3rd in the Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend Eric S. Orzech, Parochial Vicar of the parish will officiate.
