Mary H. Janosik (nee Kedmenec), 89, Avid Baker

She was born February 10, 1922 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident. She was a graduate of the Lorain High School 1940 B class.
Mary was a lifelong member of St. Vitus Catholic Church in Lorain and the St. Teresa Guild of the church. She volunteered as a Room Mother and Co-Chairperson of the PTA at Washington School in Lorain. Mary was a member and President of the Residents Council at Life Care Center in Elyria where she had lived for the past 6 years.
Mary loved to bake, play cards and bingo and listen to music. Her friends always enjoyed her hospitality and bakery.
She is survived by her daughter MaryAnn Janosik (Dean, School of Professional Studies and the Graduate College, St. Catherine University) and MaryAnn's husband Paul Yuckman of St. Paul, Minnesota and nephews Terry Kedmenec of Vermilion and Gary Kedmenec of Findlay. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years George Edward Janosik on July 29, 1983, parents Andrew and Ann Kedmenec (nee Matos), brother Frank Kedmenec on Feb. 1, 1960 and sister Helen Lopatkovich on Jan 13, 1997.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral mass at 10:30 am at the Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Eric Orzech, parochial vicar, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
