Adele V. Hyde, 84, Executive Secretary at Lorain National Bank

She was born May 21, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan to Henry and Sabina Zlotnicki, the third of three daughters.
While a resident of Lorain, Adele was an adventurous soul that traveled the world in the 1950's with stops in Poland, France, Italy, Mexico and the Caribbean as well as stops in many American cities. She was a graduate of Lorain High School Class of 1945A. She spent over 20 years working at Lorain National Bank starting as a Bank Teller and worked her way up to Executive Secretary to the President.
Her main ambition in life was to be a Housewife and Mother and she mastered both. She occupied her spare time while living in Lorain with the PLAV#38 Ladies Auxiliary and Drill Team and a social club formed with girlfriends from high school called the Dreamettes. She was a member of Nativity BVM Catholic Church. She was an excellent cook and baker. The box that always showed up the week before Christmas and Easter with Polish Sweet Bread will truly be missed. Baking the Sweet Bread was a tradition passed down from her Mother-in-Law Clara Hyde.
Adele also resided in Cincinnati moving there in 1975 after her husband was promoted and transferred there by the B&O Railroad. She was very active in the Wyoming Heights Garden Club, Ikebana International, Garden Club of Ohio and the Greenhill Women's Club. She was an active member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. Adele's true passions in life were her faith, family and gardening. She never met a perennial or knock-out rose she didn't like and her flowerbeds were proof positive. Adele prayed and meditated daily, a trait she passed down to her children. When Adele first took ill in Cincinnati, if not for her wonderful neighbors her family would have been lost. She had a knack of forming friendships with the most wonderful people and she truly was blessed.
She is survived by her sons Richard G. Hyde, Jr of Galesburg, Michigan and Michael G. Hyde (Michelle L.) of Bethany, Oklahoma, sister Florence A. Springer and sister-in-law Marilyn Roth, both of Lorain and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years Richard G. Hyde, Sr, her parents and her sister Henia Marinik.
The family will receive friends Sunday 1-4 pm at the Vorhis Funeral Home, 11365 Springfield Pike, Springdale, Ohio. Additional viewing will be held Monday from 9:00 am until 10:00 am funeral mass at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Robert J. Glepko, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
