Ann Tomusko (nee Miller), 88, Devoted mother and grandmother

Photo of Ann Tomusko (nee Miller) Ann Tomusko (nee Miller), 88, of Lorain, died Wednesday January 11, 2012 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home after a long illness.

She was born June 26, 1923 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Ann graduated from Lorain High School in 1942. She worked at Masson School in Lorain for 17 years before retiring.

Ann was a former member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Lorain where she sang in the church choir. She was a member of the Church of St. Peter in Lorain, the Lorain Women's Club, the Lorain Flower Garden Club and the Serbian Fraternal Lodge.

Ann was proud of her Serbian heritage and danced and played the Tamburica with the Serbian-Croatian Dancers. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed reading and bowling.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years John Tomusko, children Dennis Tomusko (Maria) of Amherst and Elaine Biczykowski (Mark) of Amherst, daughter-in-law Jean Clark of Lorain, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Thomas J. Tomusko in 1992, parents George and Mary Miller (nee Marovich), sister Mary Conger and brother Mike Miller.

The family will receive friends Friday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain and on Saturday from 9:00 am until the funeral mass at 9:30 am at the Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
