Margaret Irene Truxell, 82, Enjoyed listening to big band music

Photo of Margaret Irene Truxell Margaret Irene Truxell (nee Ruth) 82, of Lorain passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011 at her home following a long illness.

Mrs. Truxell was born in Lorain on May 7, 1929, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Ruth.

Molly was a proud graduate of Lorain High School, class of 1947. During World War II while only still in high school she felt a strong patriotic duty to support her country during war times and decided to work at General Industries manufacturing airplane armatures.

One of her favorite childhood memories was meeting Dean Martin in Steubenville, OH during a trip to visit relatives. As Dean carried her groceries, he told Molly of his ambition to become a famous singer and Molly remained a life- long fan of his work.

Mrs. Truxell was an active and devoted member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lorain for more than 62 years. Molly happily worked at Lorain National Bank until her retirement.

Some of her favorite pastimes included listening to big band music, dancing at Crystal Beach with her husband, taking trips to Cedar Point, and watching any television shows with Rosemary Clooney. Mrs. Truxell is survived by her son Daniel D.Truxell of Vermilion and her grandson Daniel P. Truxell of Cleveland.

In addition to her parents, Molly was preceded in death by her daughter Mary Ellen Truxell, a brother Charles (Sparky) Ruth, and her husband Daniel C. Truxell.

Friends may call on Monday January 2, 2012 from 4-7 pm at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, in the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, corner of 6th and Washington Street, with Rev. Jimmy Madsen officiating. Burial will take place at the Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
