Daniel L. ''The Wise Guy'' Wise, 67, C.P.A.

Mr. Wise was born in Lorain on July 14, 1944 and had been a resident of Elyria since 1978.
He was a 1962 graduate of Lorain High School and later attended Lorain County Community College. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Cleveland State University and subsequently passed his examination to receive certification as a Certified Public Accountant. At the time of his passing, he was self-employed in the Lorain-based practice of Daniel L. Wise, C.P.A.
Dan was a veteran of the United States Army where he fulfilled duty assignments as a Technical Sergeant attached to the ALT Company, 4th Army in Vietnam. He was the recipient of multiple decorations including the National Service Defense Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal. He was a member and past Quartermaster of Mullen-Murray Post # 451 of the VFW in Lorain and was also a member of Elmer Johnson Post # 118 of the American Legion in Amherst.
He was active in a variety of service and fraternal organizations including the Lorain Lion Clubs and the Elyria Kiwanis Club; he was also a member and past Treasurer of Elyria Eagles Aerie # 431.
In his free time he enjoyed boating and was a member of the Vermilion Power Squadron. Additional interests included playing vintage baseball as a member of the Ohio Buckeyes.
He is survived by his daughter Natalie DeMarco (Paul) of Lorain, by his son Jeffrey Wise of Elyria, by grandsons Paul Michael DeMarco and Daniel Robert DeMarco, by brothers Charles of Elyria, along with Edward and Marshall Wise, Jr. both residing in Florida. He also leaves sisters Carol Hawkes and Mary Jane Mickey Coleman both of Lorain.
Dan was preceded in death by his father Marshall A. Wise, Sr., by his mother Mary J. Wise (nee Knasinski), by a brother Frankie, and by a sister Arlene.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave. Lorain. Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m.in the funeral chapel with Reverend Chris Robinson representing Mercy Regional Medical Center and New Life Hospice presiding. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp. Joint military honors will be conducted by VFW Post # 451 and American Legion Post # 30 both of Lorain.
