Betty Lou Allinder, 79, Member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary
Betty Lou Allinder (nee: Lutton), 79 years of age, and a resident of Oberlin, passed away Monday, June 26, 2006 at EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria.She was born April 13, 1927 in New Brighton, Pennsylvania. She was raised and lived in Pennsylvania before coming to Oberlin over 6 years ago.
She was employed at the Chuck Wagon Restaurant in Duncansville, Pennsylvania for twenty-eight years, retiring in 1980 as a cook. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Duncansville and enjoyed playing Bingo.
Survivors include her son Dennis Allinder of Dayton Beach, Florida; her daughters Luanne Overstreet of Oberlin and Penny Burger of Duncansville, Pennsylvania; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; her brother James Lutton of Western Port, Maryland; and her sisters Ellen Fertain of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, Georgan Konkel of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, Jana Bomboris of Medina, Ohio, and Carol Campbell of Fayette City, Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Allinder in 1977; by her daughters Dr. Maureen Allinder and Cheryl Allinder; by her sons Randy Allinder, Mark Allinder, and Barry Allinder; and by her parents Harold and Thelma Lutton (nee: Ludwig).
Friends may call Thursday, June 29, 2006, from 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 1, 2006, at 12:30 p.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. John Collins, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Carson Valley Church of Brethren Cemetery, Duncansville, Pennsylvania.
