Cameron Greene, 5, Pre-schooler

Cameron Joseph Greene, age 5 son of William and Karen Greene, and a resident of Oberlin, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland following a short illness. His generous spirit lives on through organ donorship.

He was born March 7, 2000 in Fairview Park, Ohio. Oberlin has been his home all his life.

Cameron was a pre-schooler at Firelands Country Day School. He loved life and was always smiling. At home, he enjoyed playing "Thomas the Train" and riding his motorized Jeep around the yard. He also loved the Cleveland Indians; visiting the Cleveland Zoo; riding the rides at Cedar Point; and his trip to Disney World in Florida last year.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his paternal grandparents Janet Greene of Kipton and Thomas Greene of Elyria; his maternal grandparents Donald and Geneva Calkins of South Amherst; numerous aunts; uncles; and cousins.

Friends may call Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Gary Lunsford, pastor of First United Methodist Church in South Amherst will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.

The family will be establishing the Cameron Greene Memorial Fund; c/o his parents for future scholarships at the Firelands School System.
