Frank C. Martin, 81, Enjoyed Vacationing with Family

Frank C. Martin, 81, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at the Inn at Chappel Creek, Vermilion following a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's Disease.

He was born November 30, 1923 in Lorain, and has been a resident of Vermilion for the past 42 years moving from Maple Heights.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII in the Pacific 201st Port Co.
He had a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Fenn College.

Mr. Martin was employed by American Standard Plumbing and Heating as a branch manager in Lorain, and regional manager of Amstan Supply in Berea. He was a manufacture's representative for Roberts-Gordon/ Co-Ray-Vac heating systems for 20 years.

He was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational in Vermilion, where he served on Diaconate and the Finance Committee. He was active in the Vermilion Rotary Club. He enjoyed walking, vacationing with family and having coffee with his friends.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth Jeannette (nee Green); 2 daughters, Susan E. Cieslak of Vermilion and Mrs. Laura (Art) J. Daniels of Avon Lake; a son, Thomas A. Martin of Elyria; 5 grandchildren Jennifer Pierce of Boston, Mass, Daniel Martin of Vermilion, Tim and Lindsay Daniels of Avon Lake and Lauren Cieslak of Vermilion; 3 brothers, James Martin of Chardon; Donald Martini of Chardon; and Chris Martin of Sandusky; and 2 sisters, Mary Smith of Chardon, and Janet Buragas of Akron.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Martin; a sister Martha Chalupa and his parents, Frank J. and Martha (nee Westermann) Martin.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 11, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct evening military services at 7 pm..

Services will be held at the United Church of Christ Congregational, Saturday, March 12, 2005, at 11 am. The Reverend Wendell Brooker, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
