Mary Tesler, 85, Teacher of the Year

Mary (DiVencenzo) Tesler age 85 of Petalumo Ca. formerly of Grafton Twp. passed away March 4, 2005 in her home after a long illness.

She is a graduate of Belden High School, with honors, and a graduate of Kent State University in Journalism, then working for B.F. Goodrich. She later went to Luke's School of Nursing where she received her bachelors degree. She attended San Francisco School of Nursing receiving her Masters degree in Pediatrics and later did research in Child Pain Management. She traveled to various countries giving seminars on Pain Management and the measurement of pain on a scale of 1 to 10. She taught the master's program at the university until her retirement in 1983 and also received the "Teacher of the Year Award".

She is survived by 1 Daughter Cathy (Patrick) Thompson of CA, 1 Step Child Melissa (Richard) Young of WA, 2 Grandchildren Caitlan & Nicholas, 2 Sisters Henrietta (Samuel) Minichiello, Betty Kowalski, Sister in law Wanda DiVencenzo of Grafton Twp.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Herbert Tesler in 2004, her parents Carmela & Domenic DiVencenzo, and a Brother Alfred.

Friends may call in the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home 1021 Main St. Grafton Thursday, March 10, 1005, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm with a funeral mass in Immaculate Conception Church 708 Erie St. Grafton at 10:00 am with Fr. John Seabold pastor officiating.

Prayers will be in the funeral home 9:30am Friday morning, burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Grafton.
