Louise M. Mihal, 96, 1998 Twinsburg Twin Festival Queen
Louise M. Mihal (nee Holland), 96, of Amherst, died Monday, February 28, 2005 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home in Lorain after a brief illness.She was born April 20, 1908 in Lorain and had resided in Amherst for the past 50 years moving from Lorain.
Mrs. Mihal worked as a seamstress at Weitz Clothiers in Lorain for 38 years and then worked at Lorain Products retiring in 1974.
Louise and her twin sister Margaret were queens of the Twinsburg Twin Festival in 1998 and were voted the oldest look-a-like twins three years in a row.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and enjoyed sewing, golf and bowling.
She is survived by her daughter Marguerite Scotty Jones of Amherst, 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Mike Mihal in 1994, grandson David Sheppard, parents Edward & Marguerite (nee Trostle) Holland, sisters Kathryn Szombati, Cecelia Smith and Helen Walsh, twin sister Margaret Swaney and brothers Patrick Holland, Matthew Holland and John Holland.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 2, 2005, from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:00 AM followed by the mass of Christian burial at 9:30 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 309 8th St., Lorain. The Rev. Daniel Divis, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
