Arnaldo Berrios, 44, Avid Sports Fan
Arnaldo "Arnie" Berrios 44 of Lorain died February 28, 2005 in Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center, Lorain following a sudden illness.He was born December 11, 1960. He was a life long resident.
He graduated from Admiral King High School, Lorain in 1979 where he "lettered" in football baseball and basketball. He attended Ohio State University for two years.
He served in the National Guard as a military policeman for six years.
Mr. Berrios was a police officer for the city of Lorain for 11 years. Currently he was a team leader for Polyone in Avon Lake, for the past four years.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain.
Mr. Berrios shared his love of sports by coaching. He coached Saint Anthony of Padua School, Lorain baseball team for the past two years. He also coached t-ball baseball.He also coached t-ball baseball.
In 2003, he founded the Lorain Falcon Baseball team. It is a part of the Cuyahoga Baseball Association.
He was an avid sports fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers, and Browns. He loved music and cooking-out for his family and friends.
Among the survivors are his wife of 11 years Judy Arroyo of Lorain; son Alejandro Valerio Berrios at home; brothers Ralph Berrios of Lorain, Ralph barrios of Conyers, Georgia and Bernardo "Nandi" Cruz of Lorain, uncles Hector Rodriguez of Washington, D.C., Angel Rodriguez of Lorain and Ruben Rodriguez of Charlotte, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by her parents Rafael Berrios and Eloina Ramos Rodriguez, Maternal Grandparents Rafael and Trinidad (nee Vazquez) Rodriguez and Paternal Grandparents Juan and Eduarda (nee Rivera) Berrios, niece Tania Rodriguez and a Nephew Anthony Berrios.
Friends may call Thursday, March 3, 2005, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, South Lorain. Where funeral services will be Friday with closing prayers at 9:00 AM followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 9:30 AM. Reverend, Father William A. Thaden, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Where the Disabled American Veterans, Louis Paul Proy, Chapter 20, Lorain will conduct military honors.
