Anna R. Lindberg, 92, Fairview Hospital Volunteer

Anna R. Lindberg (nee: Reyes), 92 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Monday, February 28, 2005 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home.

She was born June 10, 1912 in Juncos, Puerto Rico where she was raised. She attended Hunter College in New York. Prior to coming to Amherst in 1998, she was a resident of North Olmsted.

Prior to having children, Anna worked in Washington, D.C. In addition to being a homemaker, she volunteered for Fairview Hospital. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Westlake.

Survivors include her son, Russell Axel Lindberg, II of Clarkshill, South Carolina; her daughters Rosann Eigenfeld of Oakland, California and Margaret A. Thomas of Elyria, four grandchildren; and sister Juanita Horseman of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Russell Alex Lindberg on April 22, 1999; by her parents Gabriel and Basilia Reyes (nee: Garcia); and by seven brothers and sisters.

Friends may call Wednesday, March 2, 2005, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, at 2 p.m. from the funeral home. Rev. Larry Wesolik, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Westlake will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
