Tommasina DelSignore, 84, Enjoyed Traveling and Collecting Angels

Photo of Tommasina DelSignore Tommasina DelSignore (nee Leone), age 84, of Lorain, died Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at her home following a lengthy illness.

She was born on August 2, 1920 in Barrea, Italy, moving to Lorain with her family at the age of 3.

She was a Class A graduate of Lorain High School in 1939. She had began working at a young age in the dietary department of the old St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain and for the Western and Southern Life Insurance Company. She had also worked for the Girl Scouts and most notably worked in sales at the former Higbee Company from 1966-1983.

She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain and the Isabella Guild. She was an active member of the Fairhome School PTA. She enjoyed traveling and collecting angels. She was also an avid Cleveland Indians fan.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Guzik and Palma Stipe, both of Lorain; 2 granddaughters; and a brother, Louis Leone of Lorain.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Patsy DelSignore, a son, Patsy DelSignore and parents, Antonio and Palmarosa (nee DeLarado) Leone.

Friends may call on Friday, February 25, 2005 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio.

Closing prayers will be said at the funeral home at 9:30 am on Saturday, February 26, 2005 followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E. Erie Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend Charles Henkle, O.F.M., Conv. will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
