Ruth Angela Overstreet, 75, Homemaker and mother
Ruth Angela Overstreet (nee Hill,) 75 years of age, and a resident of Oberlin, passed away Friday, February 18, 2005 at her home following a lengthy illness.She was born May 6, 1929 in Vanceburg, Kentucky, where she was raised. She made her home in Lorain before moving to Pittsfield Township in 1963.
Ruth was a loving housewife and mother. She enjoyed bingo, reading and gardening which included vegetables and beautiful flower gardens.
Survivors include her sons Roger Overstreet of Grafton, Bill Overstreet of Huntington, Steven Overstreet of Summerville, SC, Wallace "Dusty" Overstreet of Oberlin; her daughter Karen Ashley of Hickory, NC; twenty-three grandchildren, and sixteen great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years Marvin E. "Bud" Overstreet on June 1, 1993; and by her parents and several brothers and sisters.
Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 21, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
