Nancy Lou Elizabeth Sims, 70, Teachers� aide
Nancy Lou Elizabeth Sims, age 70, of Eaton Township, passed away Friday, February 18, 2005 in her home after a long illness.She was born July 7, 1934 in Cleveland and had lived in Eaton Twp. since 1957.
She was a Magna cum Laude graduate of Holy Name High School, class of 1952. Mrs. Sims was a charter member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Columbia Station. A past president of American Legion Aux. #717 in North Eaton, she held many offices
and was a charter member of VFW Post #3341 in Grafton. Mrs. Sims was also a life member of AmVets Post #32 in Elyria. She was retired from Midview
Board of Education where she served for 18 years as a teachers’ aide. She had retired in 1992 and was a member of OAPSE #186.
Mrs. Sims was past president of Eaton PTA, a charter member of Midview Boosters Club and a member of AARP.
She was an avid bowler on many leagues, currently with Grafton Strikers. Her hobbies included bowling, camping, reading and traveling.
She had visited all 50 states and Canada & Mexico.
She is survived by 2 Daughters : Pamela Jenkins of Elyria and Terri Zunis of Elyria. 2 Sons: Larry Sims and Michael Sims both of Eaton Twp. Survivors also include 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony in 1979 and her parents Lawrence & Helen Wohleber.
Friends may call Monday, Feb. 21, 2005 from 5-8 p.m. in the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home 1021 Main St. Grafton. Friends may also call in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 25801 Royalton Rd. Columbia Station on Tuesday from 10 am until time of funeral mass at 11am. Rev. Charles Ryba, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Grafton.
