Allen A. Turton, 64, Ford Quality Control Inspector

Photo of Allen A. Turton Allen A. Turton, age 64, of Lorain, died Friday February 18, 2005 in the intensive care unit of Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center after experiencing complications from recent surgery.

Mr. Turton was born August 14, 1940 in Lorain and had been a life-long resident of the city.

Allen was a 1958 graduate of Lorain High School; on December 1, of 1958 he joined the Ford Motor Company and was ultimately elevated to the role of Quality Control Inspector at the company’s Lorain Assembly Plant; he officially retired from the firm on January 1st of this year following forty-six years of service.

A parishioner of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township, he was also a member of the United Autoworkers Local # 425. His hobbies included landscaping, the company of his family, and caring for his managerie of pet cats.

Survivors included his wife of forty-three years: Priscilla (nee Snyder), a brother: Robert M. Turton of Rockville, Maryland, and sisters: Sharon Varadi of Westerville, Ohio and Paulette A. Bannick of Sheffield Lake.

He was preceded in death by a daughter: Kimberly Turton-Price in 2001, a son: Christopher A. Turton in 2004, and by his parents: Andrew and Ann (nee Dombrowski) Turton.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday February 25th, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church – 41295 North Ridge Road – Elyria Township with the Reverend James Ols pastor of the parish and Reverend Mr. John Slatcoff, permanent deacon of the church concelebrating. A memorial reception will be hosted by the family in the social hall of the parish complex immediately following the funeral services.
