Robert R. Graham, 73, Air Force Veteran
Robert R. Graham, age 73, of Avon Lake, Ohio passed away Thursday, January 27, 2005 at St. John and West Shore Hospital, Westlake following a short illness. Mr.Graham was born April 4, 1931 in Dubois, Pennsylvania, where he graduated from high school.
He served in the Air Force from 1949 to 1953 during the Korean War and was in the Air Force Reserve as well. He was stationed at the Ohio Air National G11ard, Port Clinton from 1973 until 1987 when he retired from the reserve. He moved to Avon Lake 39 years ago.
Robert was employed as a mechanic with N.A.S.A.'s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland for 28 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Dover Masonic Lodge #4899 Westlake; American Legion Post 211, Avon Lake and V.F.W- Post 8796, Avon Lake. Mr. Graham was an avid reader.
Mr. Graham is survived by his wife of 48 years: Arwilda "Cleo" (nee Doverspike); two daughters, Linda Yavoich (Robert) of North Ridgeville and Sue Ann Seno (Frederick) of Old Brooklyn.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Ann Benninger and his parents, Richard M. and Margaret (flee Griffith) Graham.
Friends may call at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 163 Avon-Belden Rd. Avon Lake from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday. Services will be held at the funeral home Monday, January 31 at 11 a.m. Rev. Kelly Boyle Peters, pastor of the Avon Lake United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon where V.F.W. Post 9871, North Ridgeville will conduct military honors.
