Steve "Tony" Uhnak, 80, Service Man
Steve “Tony” Uhnak, age 80, of Avon Lake, Ohio passed away Sunday, January 30, 2005 at the New Life Hospice Center Lorain after a long illness.Tony was born July 17, 1924 in Lakewood and was a resident of the Avon Lake area most of his life.
He was retired from the Columbia Gas Company’s Westlake office where he worked as a service man for over 35 years.
He was active with gas company retirees and a former member of the Eagles in Lorain. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and feeding birds and deer.
He is survived by three stepdaughters, Patty Leach Swanson of Tracy, California, Micki Leach Archer of Summerfield, Ohio and Karen Leach Patterson of Powell, Wyoming. He also has four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Terry in 1998. His parents James and Katherine and sisters Mary and Rose.
Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2005. Services will be Thursday at the funeral home with the time to be announced. Burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery, North Ridgeville, Ohio.
