Jeanne Marie Bahl, 88, Enjoyed Cooking and Bingo

Jeanne Marie Bahl (nee: Will), 88 years of age, and a resident of Elyria, passed away January 30, 2005 at EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria following a lengthy illness.

She was born March 16, 1916 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania where she was raised and graduated from Carek High School. Elyria has been her home since moving from Pennsylvania in 1941.

Jeanne was employed by the former Higbee’s at Midway Mall fro twenty-two years, retiring in 1986 as a selling supervisor. She was a member of the Elyria United Polish Club; the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elyria V.F.W. Post #1079; and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elyria Moose Club. She enjoyed cooking, baking and bingo.

Survivors include her son William Bahl of Delray Beach, Florida; her daughter Ella Jean Sparks of Amherst, two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and her sisters Mary Matthews of Sebastian, Florida and Eileen Will of Lodi, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents Louis P. and Eleanor Will (nee: Francz); her brothers Louis, Walter, and Roger Will; and her sisters Eleanor Will, RSM and Rita Ogurchak.

Visitation and funeral services will be held privately by the family. The Rev. Fr. Denis St. Marie, pastor of Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church of South Amherst, will officiate. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Society of the Little Flower, 1313 Frontage Road, Darien, IL 60561.

Arrangements are being handled by the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst, Ohio 44001.
