Douglas L. Kennedy, 76, Business Manager
Douglas L. Kennedy, 76, of Vermilion, died Thursday, January 27, 2005 in Community Health Partners West after a four year illness.
He was born November 20, 1928 in Elyria, Ohio and has been a Vermilion resident for the past 17 years, moving from North Olmsted.
He graduated from North Eaton High School and Oberlin College. He was a member of North Eaton Church of Christ.
Mr. Kennedy had been the business manager for Spitzer Motor City, Brookpark for 32 years.
He was a social member of VFW #7576, Vermilion and volunteered for their fish fries for many years. He enjoyed horse back riding, boating, traveling and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Carol (nee Schneider) Kennedy; 2 sons, Kirk Douglas Kennedy of North Olmsted and Bradley L. Kennedy of Wellington; 2 daughters, Darlene K. Kennedy of Vermilion, and Judy Carol Heirnuth of Orville; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and a brother: Richard Kennedy of Elyria.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Leon and Marguerite Mabel (nee Tattersall) Kennedy; a brother, Jack Kennedy; and a sister, Shirley Kennedy.
