Joseph ''Pep'' Jr. Carrier, 91, Enjoyed Golfing and Fishing
Joseph "Pep" J. Carrier, age 91, of Lorain, died Tuesday, January 25, 2005, at Amherst Manor following a long illness.He was born on August 15, 1913 in Lorain and has been a lifelong resident.
He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II.
He worked as a millwright for the US Steel Company in Lorain, retiring in 1976 after 35 years. He was a member of the Church of St. Peter in Lorain, D.A.V. Louis Paul Proy Chapter 20, I.A.V. Post #1, Moose Lodge of Lorain and the V.F.W. Post 1079 of Elyria. He enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, whom he married on November 30, 1946, Elizabeth (nee Rozzano)Carrier; daughters, Linda Grassnig of Amherst and Louise Hahn of Bloomfield, Michigan; son, James Dauria of San Mateo, California; 9 Grandchildren and 12 Great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Nick and Mary Jane (nee Forley) Carrier, sisters Emily Capasso and Rose Taddeo and brothers, Frank and John Carrier.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 27, 2005 from 4-8 pm at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain.
Closing prayers will be said at the funeral home at 9:30 am on Friday, January 28, 2005, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend Kenneth Wolnowski, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain with military honors conducted by I.A.V.
