Jospeh Daniel Turner, 70, Antique Dealer

Joseph Daniel Turner, 79, of Avon, died Friday, January 7, 2005 at the EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria following a sudden illness.

He was born September 28, 1925 in Avilton, Maryland and moved to Avon from Vermilion in 1963.

He served in the U.S. Army in Europe at the conclusion of World War II. He was employed as a welder with Fruehof and retired from A-1 Welding in 1984. Joseph also was an antique dealer with his wife with J. & B. Antiques.

Mr. Turner is survived by two daughters, Sherry Mitchell (Larry) of Avon and Debbie Colvin (Terry) of Elyria and four sons, Michael of Avon, Joe M. of Avon Lake, Steve of South Amherst and Gary Turner (Kathy) of Lorain; ten grandchildren, Shawn and Stacy Szep, Leona Boring, Terry Colvin, II; Amanda Marie, Stephanie, Jessica, Justin, Elizabeth and Eric Turner; three great grandchildren, Eddie Mitchell, Shane and Seth Szep; and two sisters, Joyce Stegmaier and Donna Garland both of Cumberland, Maryland.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty (1985) and his parents, Silas Michael and Jessi Marie (nee LaRue) Turner.

Friends may call at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 32000 Detroit Road, Avon from 4-9pm Sunday, January 9, 2004. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home Monday January 10th at 10:00am. Rev. Barbara Davis, a chaplain with Community Health Partners will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Avon, where V.F.W. Post 9871 North Ridgeville will conduct military honors.
