Thelma E. Kohler, 86, Enjoyed crafts and ceramics

Thelma E. Kohler, (nee Williams), age 86, of Sheffield Township, died Thursday, December 30, 2004 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home in Lorain following an illness of six months.

Thelma was born August 20, 1918 in Lorain and had been a resident of Sheffield Township since 1948.

She was a graduate of Lorain High School as a member of the class of 1936-B and later went on to graduate from the Cleveland Business College. She was employed as a machinist for the Stanadyne Corporation of Elyria for many years retiring in 1978.

Mrs. Kohler was a charter member of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township as well as the church's Altar & Rosary Society. She was also an active member of the Salvation Army Keenagers whose hobbies included all types of crafts and ceramics. Additional interests included collecting baskets.

She is survived by sons: Kenneth of Elyria and Raymond of Vermilion, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a brother: Raymond Link of Dayton.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles Kohler, a son: Keith Kohler, her father: Talford Williams, her mother: Teresa (flee Smith) Williams-Link, and her stepfather: Raymond F. Link.

Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel - 3224 Broadway - Lorain where a rosary will be recited by officers and members of the Saint Vincent de Paul Altar & Rosary Society at 3 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by the celebration of a funeral mass at 10 a.m. in Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church - 41295 North Ridge Road - Elyria Township. The Reverend Gaetano Menegatto will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery - Lorain.

In lien of flowers, the family requests donations to either the Building Fund of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church - 43295 North Ridge Road - Elyria, Ohio 44035 or to the Hospice of the Western Reserve - 300 East 185th Street - Cleveland, Ohio 44119.
