Ralph L. Leimbach, 80, Farmer

He was born June 1, 1924 in Amherst and was a lifelong resident of Brownhelm.
He was a self-employed farmer and the fifth generation to operate the Leimbach family farm. He also owned the Leimbach Insurance Agency in Vermilion.
Ralph was a graduate of Brownhelm High School Class of 1942. He was a member of the Brownhelm United Church of Christ and the Ely Masonic Lodge #424 and the Barbershop Chorus Association. He served as a charter member of the Once-a-Month Club. He enjoyed woodworking, playing bridge and gardening. His greatest treasures were his family, community and friends.
Survivors include his wife: Alida (nee van der Oord); daughters: Kathleen Ehrlich of Signal Mountain, TN and Amy McGuire of Galion; son: Robert L. Leimbach of Birmingham; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents: Robert L. and Florence (nee Wagner) Leimbach; son: Peter Leimbach in 1987; and a brother: James C. Leimbach.
A memorial service will be held at the Brownhelm Congregational United Church of Christ ~ 21434 North Ridge Road ~ in Vermilion on Friday, December 31, 2004 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Elizabeth Terrill will officiate. Interment will follow in Brownhelm Cemetery.
