Vivian Joe "Joey" Lindner, 54, Administrative Assistant
Vivian Joe Joey Lindner (nee: Fox), 54 years of age and a resident of Wellington, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2004 at Allen Medical Center in Oberlin following a lengthy illness.She was born December 26, 1949 in Lorain and has been a lifetime Lorain County resident. She was a graduate of Lorain High School in the class of 1968.
She worked at Oberlin College for twenty-one years in several different departments as an administrative assistant. She enjoyed holding the positions dealing with student services the best. She was a member of OCOPE (Oberlin College Office and Professional Employees) and OPEIU Local 502 for the past 15 years. Vivian raised and showed horses most of her life in addition to being a 4-H advisory for twenty-six years with the Wellington Red Riders. She was a member of Kipton Community Church and enjoyed reading, traveling, baking, writing poetry and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of thirty years, Thomas F. Lindner; her sons Matthew Rousseau of Seville, Ohio and Christopher Lindner of North Ridgeville; and her father Herbert Fox of Middletown, Maryland.
She was preceded in death by her mother Vivian Starr (nee: Lopatkovich).
Friends may call Wednesday, December 29, 2004 from 6-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 30, 2004 at 11 a.m. from funeral home. The Rev. Lee Stull, pastor of Kipton Community Church will officiate.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Multiple Myeloma Program R3, c/o Dr. Mohamed Hussein, Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Taussig Cancer Center, 9500 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44195.
