Frank F. Whittaker, 81, Letter Carrier
Frank F. Whittaker, age 81, of Avon Lake, passed away Friday, December 24, 2004, at his home following a sudden illness.Mr. Whittaker was born July 112, 1923 in Galion, Ohio and moved to Avon Lake from Rocky River forty years ago.
He attended the University of Vermont and then served in the Marines during World War II from 1942 until 1946. Frank was employed over thirty years as a letter carrier for the Rocky River Post Office. He was a member of the Avon Lake American Legion Post 211 and the Avon Lake V.F.W. Post 8796. He enjoyed music, reading and was a sports fan.
Mr. Whittaker is survived by his wife of 18 � years, Janet Rasmussen-Whittaker (nee Rashke); two step sons, Ralph Prowant (Leslie) of Vermilion and Paul Prowant of Avon Lake, two step daughters, Linda Ibrahim (Hamdi) of Clearwater, Florida and Cindy Rasmussen-Thomas of Cleveland and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth.
Private family services will be held. Cremation by Busch Crematory.
