Chester C. �Chet� Conrad, 77, Avon Volunteer Fireman

Mr. Conrad was born July 15, 1927 in Avon and had lived his entire life there until moving to N. Olmsted 6 months ago.

Mr. Conrad worked for B.F. Goodrich, Avon Lake for 23 years, retiring from the Shipping and Receiving Department in 1989. He was in the US Navy, serving from 1945-46. He served as an Avon Volunteer Fireman from 1961 to 1997. He was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church and a member of the Holy Name Society.

He is survived by his wife Virginia (nee Smith) whom he married, April 26, 1949. Other survivors include 4 daughters: Linda Conrad of Middleburg Heights; Cheryl Brackett (David) of Tyler, TX; Robin Rothacker (Mike) of Bedford and Mary Beth Bergenstein (John) of Columbia Station.; 4 grandchildren: Michael Lembke, John Rothaker, Heather and Nicholas Brackett and 4 brothers: Lester Conrad of Columbus and Donald Conrad, Robert Conrad and Ronald Conrad of Avon.

He is preceded in death by his parents: A.J. and Mildred (nee Weber) Conrad.

Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 32000 Detroit Rd., Avon on Wednesday, December 22, 2004 from 3:00-7:30 p.m. A prayer service will be at the funeral home Thursday, December 23 at 9:15 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 2640 Stoney Ridge Rd., Avon at 10:00am. Fr. Thomas Cleaton of the Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church.
