Walter Charles ''Waldo'' Hasenmeier, 68, US Air Force Veteran

Photo of Walter Charles ''Waldo'' Hasenmeier Walter Charles ‘’Waldo’’ Hasenmeier, age 68, of Vermilion, died Sunday, December 19, 2004 in Community Health Partners West after a sudden illness.

He was born July 4, 1936 in Sandusky, OH. He has been a resident of Vermilion for the past 28 years, moving from Sandusky.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving from 1954 to 1957.

Walter worked as a vending machine manager for Aramark, serving the Lorain Ford Automotive Plant Cafeteria, retiring after 38 years.

Mr. Hasenmeier was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Vermilion and a member of the Sandusky Eagles #444; VFW Post #7576, and he was a life member of the Vermilion AMVETS Post #22. He volunteered for the Salvation Army and he enjoyed golfing, casinos, and playing cards.

Walter is survived by his wife of 48 years: Nancy (nee Ferguson); 2 sons: Michael of Huron and Mark of Columbus; 3 daughters: Teresa Wittmer of Berlin Heights, Penney Niemela of Columbus, and Lisa Hartnett of Sandusky; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and sister Nancy Stonerook of Valrico, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Carl and Frances (nee Krause) Hasenmeier; and a � brother: Chuck Shupe.

A memorial mass will be held at the St. Mary Catholic Church, 713 Exchange Street, Vermilion on Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Jim Holmer, pastor, officiating.
