Betty J. Nemes, 74, Enjoyed spending time with family

She was born December 5, 1930 in Lorain and had resided in Elyria for the past 31 years.

Mrs. Nemes worked at Lorain products as an assembler for 20 years, retiring in the mid-1980’s.

She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Elyria and a past member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain. She enjoyed spending time with her family and had spent several summers in Cape Cod.

Betty is survived by her sons: Thomas of Lorain and Gerald of Elyria; one granddaughter; sisters: Ann Buzas of Rocky River and Irene Muska of Lorain and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Steve Nemes on June 8, 2001; father: Mike Turula in 1954; and her mother: Elizabeth Turula (nee Kulic) in 1946.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-9 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E. Erie Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Chuck Henkle, associate pastor of the Catholic Church of St. Peter of Lorain will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
