Elizabeth E. Dixon, 54, Medical Transcriptionist

Elizabeth E. "Betty" Dixon (nee Dohanyos) 54 of Lorain died December 17, 2004 in her home.

She was born July 20, 1950 in Lorain. She was a 1968 graduate of Clearview High School. She received her certificate of transcription from North Coast Community College, California.

She moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1969. She lived there for eleven years before moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1986 she moved to Southern California. In January 2004, she returned to Lorain from Orange, California.

Ms. Dixon was employed as a Medical Transcriptionist for Cymed Inc. in Hudson, Ohio and formerly worked for Community Health Partners, Lorain. She was a program coordinator for the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California. She had also worked as a Computer Systems Analyst for Huffy Company in Dayton and Irvine Medical Center, Irvine, California.

She was a member of the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California. She enjoyed music. She was a tenor saxophonist for the Patriot Band of Lorain County.

Among the survivors are her son Gregory R. Riggin of Lawndale, California and a daughter Velvet Joy Dixon of Santa Anna, California. Her mother Lena J. Dohanyos of Lorain; brother Steven Donald Dohanyos of Escondido, California, sisters Teri Foisy and Darlene Rico both of Lorain; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Steve B. Dohanyos in 2001.

Memorial service will Wednesday, December 22, 2004, at 1:00 PM at Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ 1691 East 31st Street Lorain, Ohio. Reverend Zoltan Kekemen, pastor of West Side Hungarian Church, Cleveland will officiate.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, OH.
