Jennie Josephine Strickler, 86, Loved bowling
Jennie Josephine Strickler (nee Zabivnik) 86 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2004 at New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain following a brief illness.She was born April 16, 1918 in Cleveland where she was raised. She made her home in Elyria Township forty-eight years before residing in Amherst for ten years. Lorain has been her home since August 2004.
She was employed at K-Mart for twenty-five years, retiring in 1983 as a clerk. Jennie was a member of First Baptist Church in Elyria. She loved bowling and participated in two bowling leagues at Redmans in Lorain.
Survivors include her son Leonard H. Strickler of Arlington, Virginia; her daughters Marian Moran of Warren, Jean Strickler of Lorain, Sally Harding of Medina and Ruth Harris of Wakeman; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and her sister Helen Levstek of Olmsted Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years Henry L. Strickler on August 6, 1988; by her parents Vincent and Jennie Zabivnik (nee: Levstek); and by three brothers.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2004 at 10 a.m. at Kendeigh Corners Cemetery on Quarry Rd. in Amherst. The Rev. Bradley Quick of First Baptist Church in Elyria will officiate
