John G. Kavalac, 64, Industrial Arts Teacher

John G. Kavalac, 64 of Lorain died on Tuesday, December 14, 2004, at Community Health Partners Hospital & Surgical Center unexpectedly.

Mr. Kavalac was born on May 24, 1940, in Lorain, OH and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Lorain High School in 1958B. He then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Bowling Green State University in 1964.

He was a retired industrial arts teacher for 26 years in the Lorain City School system. He originated the Marine Tech course being taught in the Lorain Schools.

Since 1982, he has been the CEO of Wharf Marine Corporation, DBA as Baitbox and Marina in Vermilion. All his hobbies and interest surrounded his work.

Mr. Kavalac is survived by his wife Alene E. Kavalac (nee Bonsor), to whom he was married on June 13, 1964, brother Donald J. Kavalac of Avon Lake, 4 nieces and 3 nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents John and Ann (nee Yaciw) Kavalac.

Friends may call at Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH, on Friday, December 17, 2004, from 3:00 pm until funeral time at 6:30 pm. Jeannette Bemis, former 1st reader of the First Church of Christian Scientist will officiate.

John G. Kavalac will be buried at Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Amherst Twp., OH.
