Marian E. Molnar, 79, Employed by the Lorain County School System

Marian E. Molnar, (nee Emerick), age 79, of Lorain died Friday, December 10, 2004 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center following a brief illness.

Marian was born August 8, 1925 in Sheffield Village, OH and had been a lifelong resident of the county.

She was a 1943 graduate of Brookside High School. She was employed for 23 years by the Lorain County School System serving first as an aid at Oakwood Elementary School, then as a monitor at Lorain Admiral King High School, and most recently as an administrative secretary at Southview. She retired for the district in 1987. She had previously been employed by the US Steel Corp.

Mrs. Molnar was an active member of the Hungarian Reformed Church of Lorain where she was a member and officer of the Busy Martha Guild as well as a volunteer with the church’s kitchen auxiliary. She was also a member of the Hungarian Reformed Sick Benefit Society as well as the Hungarian Reformed Federal Credit Union.

Her hobbies included cooking, ceramics, and vegetable gardening. She was also an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed a special fondness for baseball. She enjoyed following the athletic accomplishments of her husband thoroughout Lorain County in her younger years and most recently with her grandchildren in their participation in sports within the Amherst Public School District.

Marian was formerly an ardent supporter of the Firelands Council of the Boy Scouts.

Marian is survived by her husband of 58 years: Edward; by sons: Edward A. Molnar of Fairfax, VA, Gary Molnar of Springfield, OH, and James of Amherst Township.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Edward and Emma (nee Gerber) Emerick; a brother: John; and a sister: Betty Delinsky.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave. Additional visitation will be observed Monday in the Hungarian Reformed Church, 1691 East 31st Street from 10 a.m. until time of services at 1`1 a.m. The Reverend Zoltan Keleman, pastor or the West Side Hungarian Reformed Church of Cleveland will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park – Amherst Township.
