Barbara J. Friedman Milner, 52, Occupational Therapist
Barbara J. Friedman Milner, 52 of Lorain died on Thursday, December 9, 2004 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.Ms. Friedman Milner was born on November 29, 1952 in Columbus, OH and has lived in this area for the last 23 years. She was a graduate of Bexley High School in 1970. She earned a degree in occuaptional therapy from Ohio State University in 1976 and then received a masters degree.
She was employed in the Shaker Heights School system for the past 18 years as an occupational therapist.
Ms. Friedman Milner was a member of Agudath B'Nai Israel Synagogue, life member of Hadassah and a member of the ABI Sisterhood. She was also a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association. She was a co-author of several books in the occupational therapy field that expanded on the definition of the Five Human Senses.
Despite her illness, she was able to travel to Israel. Ms. Friedman Milner was a great admirer of Carol King and while battling her disease was able to attend Ms. King's concert in Cleveland. She went back stage and met Ms. King.
Ms Friedman Milner is survived by her husband Arnold G. Milner to whom she was married on June 25, 1978, daughter, Lisa Milner of Lorain, sisters Carol Friedman of Canmer, KY and Joyce Lynn of San Francisco, CA.
She is preceded in death by her parents Leon and Ann (nee Schaunfaber) Friedman, and her brother Bruce Friedman.
Funeral services will be held on December 12, 2004 at 11:00 am at Agudath B'nai Israel Synagogue, 1715 Meister Road, Lorain, OH 44052 with Rabbi Michael Hecht, officiating.
Barbara J. Friedman Milner will be buried at Salem Cemetery in Lorain, OH.
The Family suggest that memorial contributions in her memory be made to the Agudath B'Nai Israel Synagogue, 1715 Meister Road, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
